Free Robux Scams and How to Spot Them

Any search for "free Robux" returns thousands of results, and almost all of them are scams. This is a guide to every scam pattern still operating in 2026, what each one actually wants from you, and what a trustworthy rewards site looks like next to a fake one.

The Generator Bait

This is one of the oldest scams and one of the most effective. A site claims that it has "perfected the art of Robux generation", lets you enter a Roblox username, has you watch a progress bar fill, and then hits a wall called "human verification" which is scam speak for profit.

The progress bar is fake. Robux only exists inside a system Roblox controls completely, so nothing outside it can create Robux. The "offers" pay the scammer, and you will never get a single Robux.

The Password Phishing Scam

This scam looks like it is going for free Robux, but it is going for your account.

Some pages build a hyper-realistic fake Roblox login page and push you to it, asking you to type your details so they can "verify" or "connect" your account.

As soon as you type in your password your account is gone, and the limiteds are sold off within hours.

No trustworthy rewards service will ever require your account password. All anyone needs is your username, and that is public already.

The Cookie Thief

This type of scam is more advanced and targets players who are slightly more experienced. A website, or even a Discord bot, asks you to paste in a long string that they say is a "verification token" or a fix for a login error.

What they are asking for is the session cookie stored in your browser. Handing that over is the same as handing over your password, and it circumvents two-step verification entirely. Nothing legitimate is ever going to ask you to paste something out of your browser.

The Phone Number Trap

This one also circumvents security, but instead of asking for your password, it asks for your phone number to "prove you are not a robot". What actually happens is that you sign yourself up for a premium SMS subscription that bills you every week and is a hassle to turn off.

Only give your phone number out when you understand why. For earning Robux, there is no good reason to give your number.

The Fake Trade or Middleman

This one happens within Roblox itself. You will be offered a trade of Robux for your limited items, and then be asked to go first. Or a "middleman" offers to hold both sides of a trade, then takes your items and disappears.

The only safe trades are the ones in the official Roblox trade window, because both sides are shown and both sides are locked.

The Fake Giveaway

You will see posts or videos promoting a Robux giveaway where, to enter, you have to download an app, join a group, and complete a number of offers. There is no prize at the end. Legitimate giveaways never require you to complete offers to enter.

What a real platform looks like

Here are some signs that a platform is real:

• It only asks for your public username. It never asks for your password or your session token.
• It explains how the money works instead of suggesting Robux will magically appear.
• It pays out via official Roblox systems, which means gamepasses or group payouts, and not mystery transfers.
• It has a real support channel and a public review presence you can actually read.
• It doesn't make unrealistic promises about getting a huge payout immediately.

What to do if you already got scammed

Immediately change your password, then turn on two-step verification to make sure you are the only one with access to the account. Sign out of every other session from your account settings, which invalidates any stolen cookie. Look for any strange activity on your account. If you gave out a phone number, contact your phone company to block premium SMS charges.

Roblox support might be able to help if your account gets hacked, but recovering traded items is usually not possible, which is why prevention matters far more than cleanup.

The One Rule That Covers Everything

Any site that requests your password, your session data, or requires you to pay in order to get a payout is a scam, no exceptions. Everything legitimate only requires your public username and pays you after you have done something real.
